Here are the Faith Challneges from Pastor Craig's sermon August 3
1) The first is for you to Go on a "Treasure Hunt of Gratitude" Psalm 107 begins with: *"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."* It calls us to **ponder the loving deeds of the Lord** (v. 43). True treasure hunters don’t just look at the surface they dig deeper. This week: Each day, write down 3 “treasures” that God has given you** things specifically that money can’t buy: forgiveness, hope, friendships, peace, or moments of joy. Pray over your list: Thanking God specifically for these treasures and ask God to help you see God’s steadfast love in your daily life. At the end of the week, **share one of these treasures** with someone else. Tell a friend, family member, or co-worker what you are grateful for and why it matters. I am hoping this challenge moves your from possessions to treasure hunting to see God’s redeeming work and fills your souls with gratitude that truly satisfies.
2) Our second challenge is to Trade Your Barns for Blessings (Luke 12:13-21)** Jesus says: *"This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God."* The rich fool built bigger barns for his wealth, but never built a richer life in God. Identify one "barn" in your life something you’ve been holding onto tightly: possessions, worries about money, overfilled schedules, or self-sufficiency. Offer that barn up to God in prayer: Ask God to reorient your heart toward treasure that lasts: relationships, generosity, wisdom, and God’s steadfast love. Act generously: Give in a concrete way that shifts your focus from storing to sharing, donate, serve, or simply give your time to someone who needs you. My hope is that this challenge redefines wealth not by what we keep, but by what we give away and how we grow "rich toward God."
